Our style is modern Argentinean – in other words, a fresh take on classical Argentinian kitchen combined with some international dishes to suit every taste palette. Argentinean cuisine itself may be described as a cultural blending of Mediterranean influences so this is not a coincidence that our menu reflects a blend of various Italian-influenced dishes combined with Argentinean traditional plates.
The restaurant has seating for 112 diners: 32 on informal ground level and 80 in a cozier, more private restaurant area on the first floor. There is also a large terrace area seating 60 people.
Diego Antonio Lopez Massol, born in San Carlos de Bariloche (Argentina) is following footsteps of his father Don Jose Lopez Ugarte, Pioneer of the Gastronomy in the Patagonia, by bringing a little corner of his country to Spanish coast. Diego was eager to learn everything that food business has to offer from early years and is very keen to make his dream come true – to open his own gastronomic palace, Restaurante Ruta40. From dream to reality, Diego has set up an Argentinian Steakhouse with quality produce, attentive service and traditional yet modern elements , no matter if we are talking about food or desire. Come here to enjoy the typical Argentinian cuisine and its amazing angus meat accompanied by one of the best wines of this spectacular far away country. There is something to satisfy every taste palette, so even if you are not a meat lover, we make sure you find a suitable dish from our wide menu. “I am always around,” he says, “so you can count on me”.
Javier Capece, born in Mar del Plata (Argentina) is dedicating all his effort to satisfy clients and prepare the food he knows with a lot of care. Javier has been working in a restaurant for more than 10 years (5 of it as a chef) and he loves being in kitchen almost as much as eating good quality food. No matter if it comes to a beautiful selection of starters to get your mouth watering, succulent dishes with delicious flavors or home made desserts – he knows what he is doing and loves it. Come and share his passion at Restaurant Ruta40.
The restaurant is named after a route in western Argentina, National Route 40 or RN40, stretching from Punta Loyola in Santa Cruz Province in the south to La Quiaca in Jujuy Province in the north. Ruta 40 is the longest route in Argentina and one of the largest in the world with more than 5000 km. It is a long way, we are telling you. Ruta 40 starts at sea level, crosses twenty amazing national parks, eighteen major rivers, twenty-seven passes on the Andes, and goes up to 5000 m above sea level.
As the name says, we would like to take you to the journey. It is a journey through Argentina so you could taste all real flavors of Argentinian cuisine and its best produce. Argentina is a paradise for meat lovers and we are going prove that the same is our Ruta 40. We serve real Argentinian angus meat prepared by an experienced Argentinian chef – what can be better?
